Hellas Leung has been practicing law in California for nearly three years. She started her legal journey in May 2023 at a non-profit that supports tenants facing unjust evictions. In September 2024, she boldly opened her own practice, the Law Office of Hellas Leung. Hellas has handled various cases, including business disputes, family law issues, and traffic violations. Although based in San Lorenzo, Northern California, she also serves clients from Southern California. Hellas earned her law degree from an online school while working full-time and facing health challenges. She underwent four major surgeries during her studies, but never lost sight of her goal to become an attorney. The transition from her journalism career to legal writing was challenging, requiring her to adapt her skills significantly. Her essay scores were initially low, but she made significant progress with hard work and dedication. Hellas feels proud to have passed the bar exam and was sworn in as a California attorney in February 2023, surrounded by her beloved family.
